    Work is supposed to be a place where you can focus, contribute, and find some sense of stability. But when anxiety follows you into the workplace, even simple tasks can feel like mountains. You might sit at your desk wondering, “How long can I keep this up?” “How long until someone notices I’m struggling?” “When will I finally break?”

    When anxiety mixes with the pressure to perform, it can turn the workday into a quiet, ongoing battle—one carried behind forced smiles, polite “I’m okay” responses, and constant attempts to stay composed.

     

    The Morning Dread

     

    For many people, the anxiety begins before they even clock in. The moment your eyes open, your mind might start racing through everything that could go wrong:


    -       what if I make a mistake?

    -       is my boss is upset with me?

    -       believe everyone can tell how you feel

     

    You hope no one sees the frantic inner dialogue or the tightness in your chest. Hopefully they see someone who “gets things done.” Meanwhile, you’re just trying to survive the day.

    When you finally get home, the exhaustion hits—an emotional fatigue which comes from holding everything together for hours. You might feel drained, numb, and irritable. Even the quiet of your own home may not immediately feel peaceful because your mind is still replaying the day:


    “Why did I say the wrong thing?” “Does that email sound weird?” “Did they notice I was nervous?” “Can they all see through me?”
